Diploma in Creative Media
The Diploma in Creative Media is a Level 5 qualification that provides students with advanced knowledge and practical skills to critically understand and apply models, tools,and techniques used in contemporary media and creative industries. This course is designed to address the evolving needs of the media and creative sectors and is developed and delivered in partnership with industry professionals. The programme further develops students’ creative and technical potential through an innovative and practice-led curriculum that encourages them to become critical, reflective practitioners who are aware of the challenges and opportunities within modern media environments.
Learners will enhance their competencies to pursue and progress in careers across marketing, media production, digital content creation, visual effects, and related creative fields. Students will refine the attitudes, skills, and abilities required for professional creative media practice, gaining hands-on experience with advanced digital tools, visual effects techniques, promotional content creation, and end-to-end content commissioning processes. This qualification prepares students for further academic progression, including study at Honours degree level, and for employment in higher-level creative and media roles.

Course Assessment
Assessment includes both structured and open-ended tasks, such as coursework assignments (which may involve creative problem-solving activities, media simulations, industry-based projects, filming, animation, individual and group reports, as well as traditional formats like essays and analytical assignments), media presentations, and reflective assessments (e.g., digital portfolios, creative journals, and peer collaboration activities).
Teaching Method
The learning is supported through various methods. Students will be engaged in media production sessions using state-of-the-art media facilities and advanced digital technologies.In seminars and workshops, students will plan, discuss, and critically analyse projects and reference materials, culminating in professional presentations, exhibitions, and showcases of their work. An experienced team of media professionals and technical staff will provide guidance, while guest speakers and mentors from the creative media industry will enhance the student experience by linking learning to current industry practices and emerging trends.
